Sam Boggio ~ Fly Fishing Guide
My name is Sam Boggio and I was born and raised in Hardin, Montana! My fly fishing journey began at a young age when my uncle asked me if I wanted his old fly rod. Without an ounce of doubt I quickly replied, "You Bet."I started with what was probably a fifteen dollar rod, bought myself a cheaper ten dollar reel, I was set. I soon became frustrated. I couldn't cast, catch fish or do anything right. I swore I'd never do this again. Every time my dad and I would go fishing I kept trying and quitting, trying and quitting. Until one day I amazingly caught a fish, a fourteen inch Brown trout. It felt like the biggest fish I'd ever caught. I stuck with fly fishing from then on.
Today you can find me almost any day of the week rowing my driftboat down the many riffles and runs of the Beautiful trout filled Bighorn River, along with many other rivers in Montana, including the Madison, Yellowstone, Stillwater and numerous smaller streams. Rather it's an old familiar hole on the Bighorn that I've fished since I was six or doing a four thousand foot hike to high alpine lakes for feisty cutthroat trout. Fly fishing is special to me. It has taken me to some of the most beautiful places on earth.
